Orion Montessori School is an authentic and traditional Montessori School which follows the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori and the standards that are set forth by AMI (Association Montessori Internationale).
The OMS campus in West San Jose (near Santana Row) serves children between the ages of 2 years to 12 years.
OMS applies AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) teaching standards without compromise to foster the child’s love of learning, independence, and sociability which benefits the whole child, his or her community and the world at large.
Each child’s safety is our primary priority. All of our teachers are not only highly qualified professionals with at minimum a Bachelors degree, an AMI training credential diploma, and an EMSA approved CPR and first-aid training paired with expansive years of experience in the Montessori method as well as early childhood education, and a myriad of creative and cultural skills.
Our senior staff members are certified in health and safety training, and safe food handling as well. OMS is a proud member of AMI/USA and NAMTA (North American Montessori Teachers’ Association).
Our Mission
“To prepare children for life by fostering independent thinking, clear communication, diligent work habits, leadership, and strength of character through an authentic Montessori education grounded in respect and purpose.”

Our Vision
“To provide an education rooted in timeless Montessori principles that nurtures independent, confident, academically prepared, and socially responsible lifelong learners and problem-solvers who lead with compassion, empowerment, and a love for discovery.”
Our Focus
At Orion we take our motto seriously of empowering tomorrow’s leaders. Our focus is upon the child and we believe that our evidence is the child! We provide instruction in a veritable Montessori environment by including educational, and cultural materials to further the child’s developmental journey into adulthood.
At Orion, we embrace Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy of “following the child.” We strive, as she believed, to provide a loving and nurturing environment, such that the child’s innate ability to discover and develop will be encouraged. Dr. Maria Montessori said “the child is both a hope and a promise of mankind, ” hence, it is our goal at OMS to offer a genuine Montessori education for children from 2-12 years of age in a safe, secure, nurturing, and superior Montessori environment.
OMS provides dynamic learning experiences that are designed according to the developmental characteristics and needs of children: to guide and nurture each child—intellectually, socially, and emotionally.
